This magnificent tale is about Charlie Chase Rhodes, ballet dancer. We see his history unfold as he tells his life story while compiling his photo album, sort of. The storytelling is brilliant, the sex is smokin' and the life is absolutely engaging.While a youngster, Charlie met new neighbor, tall, athletic, gorgeous Scott, and he wanted a picture. This story is hilarious, tender, tragic, and heartwarming. Mistakes are made, hearts broken, but one truth remained, and that was their love never died. It may seem like I've told you too much, but you don't realize there are funny and moving anecdotes to each and every event. This is a full bodied story you'll love, and I've only hinted at the shell.
I highly recommend this brilliantly written tale of a full, at times, lonely life, finally reaching the goal of true love.

This book is going on my permanent re-read list. It has the perfect balance of snark and romance.
Charlie Rhodes has loved and lost twice. He lost his first love, Scott when he moved across the country. A few years later he meets and falls for Adan. Adan is struggling with being openly gay and walks away from Charlie.
Years later, Charlie has moved to Vegas to raise his niece and nephew. A babysitting conflict throws Scott and Adan back into his life. Charlie is thrown into a tailspin when he realizes that Scott and Adan are a couple, thinking it must be some trick of fate that the only two people he has ever loved found each other and he is destined to be alone.
Scott and Adan both still love Charlie and consider him "the one that got away." They quickly hatch a plan to prove to Charlie how much they still love him and need him in their lives.
Charlie is resistance to their advances and only persistence and determination are going to get Scott and Adan what they want, Charlie in their life permanently. Charlie must decide if he can let go of past hurts and insecurities and take what Scott and Adan are offering.
Charlie's hilarious commentary and Adan's snark made this book for me. Scott is the sweet boy next door type, but Adan is hilariously gruff. I like how Charlie flashes back to old love with a new perspective and I love how Scott and Adan remind Charlie how much they love him with the little things like his favorite flower.
This is one of those books that I wish didn't have to end.
I really liked this story. I fell in love with all 3 guys and hated the breakups. The first with Charlie and Scott was typical and happens all the time with 2 teenagers going off to college. The relationship rarely survives the separation. The second with Charlie and Adan, I don't understand why a person desperate to mend a rift would wait weeks to contact their love. Yeah, I would have changed my number by then too. The only bad I can say about this is the easy acceptance Adan and Scott had with adding Charlie to their relationship. I mean really? 5 years in, so in love, one look and its settled? No long discussion, no hesitation, no question. Just "Hey, we love each other, but neither of us got over him, so let's go for it." At least Charlie had the good sense to take his time with it. Can't blame him tho after both the douches left him (they were young, dumb, and immature. This is several years later). BTW, I love the use of "scrapbooking" to tell the story.
First, I laughed a lot reading Charlie's POV. Any book that can make me laugh out loud that frequently is a winner. ) Second, I loved how the relationships developed between Charlie and Scott and Charlie and Adan. Third, although I understand why some other reviewers thought there should have been more resistance or drama toward the end, I am glad there wasn't. After all, Isnt that a true testament of emotional strength and love, to not let your own fear of being hurt completely override your ability to let others in your life? Anyway, great book, read away!
I love Cardeno C and have read most of their books. I was disappointed with this one. The characterizations and plot were not as intense as they usually are and it didn't feel as hot. But most importantly, for me, the resolution, of turning previous couples into a thrupple (no spoiler, it's on the cover!) was not fleshed out at all. Basically the men did this incredibly complex thing while barely discussing it. It's rare that I rank a book 2 stars, but this didn't work for me at all, even though the premise was potentially interesting for me.
